Senior Field Consultant

IT for Change, with support from the European Commission, is exploring alternative digital platform models for the empowerment of women workers and farmers. One of the research sites of IT for Change is LabourNet’s digital inititatives for training and employment support services for women beauty service workers.
IT for Change is looking to recruit consultants with familiarity of the research site to support this research process.

Job Description

Contractee: IT for Change
Field/Site: LabourNet
Position: Senior
Title: Field Consultant
Duration of contract: October 2022 to June 2024
Compensation: Maximum fee up to Rs.18,00,000 for the entire contract period.

Role and Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate with team members of LabourNet to manage field data collection at the project research site
2. Facilitating and supervising the survey process
3. Overseeing the writing of the survey report
4. Liasoning with IT for Change on learnings from the survey
5. Conducting background research on informal women workers and the digital economy, and situating learnings from the survey alongside the literature review
6. Ensuring the feedback collected from the survey is converted into actionable items for the development of Learning and Income tracking platforms being developed during the project period
7. Keeping track of the digital application rollout process and liasioning with IT for Change to share
   updates and learnings
8. Participating in reviews and meetings during the project period

Required Qualifications and Skills:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in any relevant field
2. Basic knowledge of softwares such as MS Office, specifically Word and Excel
3. Ability to work as part of a team
4. Minimum 8 years experience of working in a development organisation
5. Experience working with informal workers
6. Proficient in Hindi or Kannada
